Best place to connect electric seats to loom?

Hi Guys, I've had my Z4 with the entry level manual leather seats (no electric) for a while, and have purchased some sports ones with electric movement/memory/heating.

I've spent some time working out what I need to do in term of supplying power to the car harness (there's quite a bit of new leads to the connector). 30A power/earth/K_CAN etc.

It appears its not a common thing to do on the E89 so there's very little information available on doing this so I'm basing it on the e90 threads (which there are some good ones here), and the seat wiring seems the same.

In those, they go to the fuse box for 12V, but in the Z4 (which I was surprised how hard it was to get to) I wonder if its worth going backwards to the battery and running a fused line from there.

I've seen a picture on here which looks like the main loom runs down the drivers side (post is from singapore which I believe is rhd), so I could also connect into here...

Does anyone have a recommendation of the easiest place to get to in terms of dismantling the interior?

Thanks!!

went back to battery

so I went back through the car to the battery - was pretty easy. there is a hole into the boot behind the shoulder speakers. The fuse box is pretty tightly packed so I chose to use the battery instead.

That is actually what I was thinking. Seems to make the most sense especially for a new 30A circuit.

useful thread here on removing the speaker panel and the lower panel to get to the carpet/floor. Then its all relatively easy in the boot if you half open the roof - only the boot floor trim to remove.
