Z4 28i N20 with Racechip Ultimate

Evening Folks,

Just a quick review of the Racechip ultimate. Simple Install after working out how to unplug cables. (Flathead screw driver is your friend)

Default setting came on B (only the one dial is used for petrol engines). Instantly clear power and torque gains can be felt. I was surprised how smooth the tune is...no big rushes of power, feel quite progressive with its power delivery.

Ran on B for a tank then turned up to C - not a huge feelable difference to me in this setting. Turned up to D and ran a tank again....Car pulls hard in all gears and still is running smoothy. My data logs show max boost at 20psi on setting D.

Now running on setting E and the car pulls very strongly low down still but with nice rush of power at around 4500rpm. Will be sticking with E for another tank and then will finally try F. Not sure if i will go much higher than that for safety concerns unless you can tell me otherwise.

I will add i have had no CEL lights at all so far.

If anyone has any experience with the racechip on the N20 would love to hear your thoughts....interested in seeing how high people have turned up to with good results.

Update : turned up to setting F today - still smooth with clear added power. Very happy with how my little 2 litre runs now.

Your default came in B, (maybe new software) as my default came in C, I've used as high as setting 4.

What setting are you up to so far?

Hey...just wondering how your Z4 is running with your RC set at 5. Just got my RC Ultimate a couple of weeks ago for my 528i. Running setting D currently which has been a nice, noticeable difference—especially on a heavy car like the f/10.

I emailed Racechip USA to get their official take on "safe" settings and they recommended C,D for the N20. But.....I'm itching to see what this chip can do if I push another setting or two.

Any CELs yet for you?

I'm considering the RC for my 28i Z4, you still liking it? Any issues? Worth it over something like the JB4 stage 1?

Your better checking out the F30 forums.....

RC = JB4 stage one

If you only want to keep it there, however you get engine warranty

Was specifically looking for feedback on Z4's hence the post here. Alas no engine warranty for the USA.
