Technically speaking, should Black be on the list - it not actually a color, but a lack of color while on the other hand [I know - you have 5 more fingers], White is all colors, however I'm not sure how the Apline title changes this.

Wondering out of these, how many bought the color they did because it's what was on the lot...

I was fortunate to see a "live" Z4 in Silver, White, and Blue. I only saw Black on the forum. No color seemed bad from what I had seen. The Blue was just different for me as I have only had Silver or Black cars. Deep Sea Blue is the best Blue color BMW has.....And I'll BEAT anyone that thinks otherwise !!!

Black Sapphire wasn't my first color choice but it was one of the 4 I was thinking about. Choosing one on the lot did solve that dilemma.
PS: DSB, Mohave, & Orion Silver were the others, all with the Ivory interior.

I think you mean white, not black. Black is a color.

I tend to like white cars as my first choice and red would be second. Those are the only 2 colors that I tend to go back and forth on when it comes to cars.

My primary choice would be Jet Black. I saw the deep sea blue at a dealer and somehow I wasnt as impressed as I thought I would be.
Although I like white, it makes the black rubber strips of the top and where it meets the body stand out too much imo. So that leaves metallic black or solid black. BMW here wants an extra $1400 for metallic paint which I think is a rip as it costs no more than a solid paint to cover a car. |

Deep Sea Blue was my first choice with the Ivory White Extended. I then
started looking at the Mojave and the Orion Silver. I couldn't find a Mojave anywhere to see in person. Sometimes it looked good on the internet and sometimes it didn't. I think it depended on the lighting. I then found a three series at a local dealer and I wasn't too impressed, although I think that color would look better on the Z4. I then was stuck between the DSB and the Orion Silver. I loved color of the Orion in all the press releases, but when I saw people's actual cars, sometimes it looked too beige or sometimes even had a pinkish tone to it. I was back to the blue until I saw an Orion Silver in the flesh in the showroom at a local dealer. It looked amazing and my mind was made up. It didn't look tan at all. It did look like the press releases. The rest is history!

If I had my choice, I would have gone with Mojave.

I voted DSB, but i have to say, a lighter colour like Space Grey might look better for longer as the car aged due to the less obvious light marks you usually get from repeated washing and polishing. |

BTW, DSB is more popular than I thought... I thought BSM and AW were gonna be the most popular.

Red baby. Black interior.
I've seen the car IRL so far in deep sea blue, metallic black w/ red interior (siiiick, was one of the color combo's I considered), and white just recently (surprisingly great, not a color I would initially go for personally but after seeing it I'd think twice about it). I really haven't seen a color I didn't like on the car. Quick edit: I was the first person who placed a pre-order at the dealership by me, I knew what color I wanted. |

jet black hides the lines of a convertible and when waxed up looks incredible. metallic black doesn't have the mirror effect jet does! jet black ftw!

the only thing about the non metallic colors is that they get scratched too easily... i had a jet black E90 and i couldn't even touch it with my bare hand cuz it would get scratched... with my DSB i've actually bumped into it with my belt buckle and nothing... looks just like it did when i picked it up at the dealer.
