Going on your 3rd pump, including the original, you're borderline for a buy back. Tell your rep that you are quite dissatisfied. Keep in mind they've talked with plenty of others just like you so don't let him act surprised by anything you say. It's OK to be plenty pissed off up to a point. See what they say.

I am just now experiencing longer and longer crank times. This morning is took so long I didn't think it was going to start.... 2009 Z4 3.5i, 10K miles this week.... just made appt at dealer.

Did not have the problem with my 2007 335i.... 60K miles.

Had my first HPFP replaced at about 5000mi when it wouldn't start and finally did and lit up like a christmas tree. It was towed to the shop.

7600 mi on it now and I dropped it off this morning because over the last few weeks I've been getting increased instances of long crank times (like 4 seconds) before starting. While I can't say for sure that it's the HPFP, enough people have had this same issue which ultimately was narrowed down to the HPFP that I'm fairly confident that this is the case.

Was pretty pleased with the fact that I called on Mon and they scheduled the drop off for this morning and put me in a new 528i x-drive. Granted, it's not my Z4 35i, but it's a nice car. And best of all it doesn't say "COURTESY CAR" all over the side..

Hey,

I would want to report my case:
A long crank before starting, then engine stoped after less then 500m driving, restart engine and stops again in 30m lol.

Despite only 4 month old my car only has 2000km on the clock, I am really disappionted, it might not be the HPFP but since I have read so much in here, I have assumed this is the case, keep you guys posted when the repair centre calls back.

The HPFP problem seems a recurring problem, people either never experience it or having multiple repairs. Just hope that it's a one off problem for me-.-

Only once so far for a HPFP for me- but was warned by the BMW dealer that it could happen again - I thought that strange - no mention to me then of any extended warentee - a little disappointing, thought BMW would have had their supplier fix the problem -

This has gotta be the first time I've ever heard guys complain about having long cranks. What's this world coming to?

not bad but i think 200 miles with a confirmed dead hpfp is the "best" i've heard of yet.

Sorry to hear that.

With the history of your buy you should have it fixed yesterday by your dealer.

I think it's strange BMW hasn't solved this HPFP issue yet.
