Z4 fusebox access... well that was no fun..
So the fusebox on the 2012 Z4 is under the glovebox. Remove three screws, pull off the panel to access. No problem. Only, the phillips screws defy unscrewing with several screwdrivers I try... the slot angle is just odd. But ok, once it's off, I look for the fusebox and find that it is tucked up high in the dash. I figure out you have to turn a retaining screw and then you can pull it down. Only, the wiring harness is somewhat short and you have to work on your hands and knees crouched in the passenger well. Ok, so I do all that. Just put it back together right? Nooooooooo.... it takes me an hour to line up the retaining screw with the hole so I can secure it again.
Next time, I am just going to take it to the shop and let them deal with it. Ugh... a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. |

I was having an odd issue with my Navigation and wondered if it might be related to a fuse. Yesterday, my nav window closed on me twice while driving.
I pulled the related fuses, checked them, and put everything back together. It has not happened since. I was thinking maybe a fuse had burned out, but maybe it just wasn't seated all the way down. Anyways, if you ever think you might change a fuse by the side of the road, think long and hard. |

Haha. I've fiddled there too once. Easy to remove, but a pain to put back.

Thank you, Bob! You're a gentleman and a scholar!
Thanks. Glad to know there's some precedent for the fuses being the fix. Fingers crossed! |
