Secondary cat delete question 2011 3.0i
Hey guys, I ordered a Remus exhaust for my 2011 sdrive 3.0i and was wondering if I should do the secondary cat delete while it's at the shop. Has anyone done it on this particular model, and if yes any feedback on how it sounds afterward?
Thanks! |

I would recommend it personally. I had headers and exhaust on my e92 328i with a variation of the same motor in the sdrive 3.0. After I unmuffled the naturally aspirated motor it gave me a grin of unquantifiable measures. I can only imagine how much more enjoyable the motor would've been without a roof.

Personally, I'd get the MILVs and a tune. Either way, lots more information on the N52 over there. |

I went with the Remus catback & it will sound better than stock. But then put some Supersprint headers & straight midpipes & just did away with all 4 cats and is now much better.

Hey sorry, I never came back here. So I did the secondary cat delete and I'm very happy with the result. Here is a before and after video I did:

It is my understanding that you can't mess with the N52 exhaust without a reflash of the tune. Removing the cats, resonator or adding a less restrictive muffler will cause the engine to run lean. Can anyone confirm this?

I personally feel primary cat delete is the way to go. Here's why
1. way better exhaust sound (especially on 35i and superb on 35is) 2. few extra horsepower +20hp, even more if you're tuned 3. very minimal smell (only when cold started) Me driving 35is around https://soundcloud.com/taranfx/bmw-z...-exhaust-noise
