When I asked the dealer a couple of months ago (with the screenshot from the parts system) he said there was no part available in the UK

That cup holder sucks anyway. It doesn't fit any coffee cup that I own, nor most soda cans/cups. Most cup holders are adjustable with rubber pieces, etc, but not this one.

I find the cup holder quite useful. I keep mine in place at all times. The BMW travel mug fits nicely in it as do medium bottles of water.

It's even Tail of the Dragon proof. In 318 turns at max G's times 10 runs, the BMW travel mug or water bottles stayed in place.

Guess I need a BMW travel mug.

I have a bunch of these:

And they are too small/narrow for the holder. They flop all over the place.

What mug do you have?

That's the same one I was given with the Z4 purchase.

The cupholder is great. It fits every cup/mug/bottle I use, including the 44oz Thirstbuster from Circle K, since that cup has a narrow bottom, designed to fit almost any cupholder.

Not available. I don't think there is a hole where you can insert the cup holder on RHD drive Z4s.

Memphis did you sell your Z4 and purchase a M3? I thought I saw a post to that effect or am I mistaking?

If so how do you like the M3?

Z4@Phuket, Did you inquire at the dealership about this? If you absolutely need one I and sure it can be added or try to find a aftermarket one.

See post 28 in this thread ... more out there if you google it CLICK

In one word - no, they didn't have enough engineering talent to invert the blueprint.

Its possible to retro the holder, clips, etc etc. not worth the time and effort, I really wanted it....

I found similar cup holder from RHD series 6 But the attatchment angle is different, here is about 45 degrees, in Z4 it is vertical
So far nothing for RHD Z4

I really wished they integrated a retractable/hideaway cup holder similar to the Porsche Cayman.

The E90 had a similar set-up too.

Only official option for RHD drive e89 is under the center console armrest. In the UK they come as part of the extended storage option or you can buy the parts and retrofit. Some markets get the cup holders in the base car.

Replace parts 6 and 9 with 7, 10 and 11.

If you can find one, the old style screw-in cup holder for an e34 might work. You will need to drill holes.

This one might work too. http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/s...roduct=1312013

We have those on the M3, I don't like the location of the new 3 Series (right in front of the gear shift). Oh well one day they will get it right
