New VMR V710 Shoes

I finally got my new VMR V710 Wheels for the Z.
I went with Hyper Silver.
I stayed with 18" wheels, which I have now, for a number of reasons:
1. As my RFT Bridgestones only had 2200 miles on them (and what the budget allowed) I decided to re-use my tires to ware them out. As well, I was able to reuse my perfect condition TPMS and BMW Center Caps.
2. For comfort levels I wanted to stay with 18's.
3. My next mod will be an H and R spring drop which will lower my NON sport suspension by 1.2 inches in both the F and R.

Wanting to make sure that I had a quality company un-mount and re-mount and balnace the tires/wheels, I asked VMR for a mounting recommendation. They told me to find a company that owns a Hunter Road Force GSP9700 machine. This is a NO Touch the RIM ( lack of a better description) for un- mounting and re-mounting tires on performance (or any) rims.

Lucky for me, there was a local guy who only works on Bimmers, MB , Porsche etc cars that had this machine. I hate to let any one work on the car, BUT was forced to for this. They did a great job BUT as always they did scratch the lug holes on 2 wheels. I already bought the touch up paint. Whatta ya gonna do.

To get the best fit W/O spacers, which I did not want, but wanting to get the wheels to fit as close as possible to being flush to the fender, VMR recommeded the following F and R sizes:
Front
18 x 8.5
35 Offset
5 x120 bolt pattern
72.6 Hub OEM fit

Rear
18 x 9.5
33 Offset
5 x120 bolt pattern
72.6 Hub OEM fit

I love the new look.
Can't wait for the $$ to be saved for my drop.

Very nice. I've seen a few people with 710s...good choice for our Z4. BTW - you wouldn't have to change your TPMS or center caps with a different size rim. But I understand you desire not to throw out relatively new tires.

Thanx all for the replies.
I seem to find myself out in the garage everyday for no other reason other then to just take a look at the new wheels and end up saying to myself how much I love the total overall car design of the Z, more and more after each look.
There is truly Nothing else like the Z4 on the road today.
I still cannot believe that after 18 months of ownership that this car is actually mine.

Then taking a drive is pure HEAVEN.

Do you have covers or plugs on the front licence plate bracket holes on your front bumper?

TAB 380
I have small diameter plastic autobody plugs filling the license plate mounting holes. I got them at Ace Hardware. I wet sanded the heads and painted them my Space Gray with a top clear coat
I got the idea from this forum.
I am running basically illegally in the State of Mass for driving and espicially for my annual inspection. However for the inspection, I just Ty wrap my front plate to the bumper then remove it.
I have done this with the past 2 cars for 6 years and have never been pulled over

I know what you mean.
I do not like the gap on my car also.
But, I do not want to spend too much on a new suspension just to lower the car 1".

However, the car would look better if it was lower.

Man you have to feel the car once to drop some coils on that. The handling is way better the look in the car is insane.

BMWZ4rider, what's your tires sizes on these wheels? If you went with a wider tire then stock, do you get any rubbing?

This really does look great. I love that they are 18s, too. I am thinking of switching to 18s for the weight and to make the ride a little more plush, especially when we drop it on KWs.

I really like the look of these in 18.

Hujan, depending on your timing, I am going to be getting rid of my 18" set of style 325m wheels, with TMPS and dunlop ZII tires over the next few months

You hustler, you! I actually like the 325Ms a lot. I'd have to think about that a bit.

The only problem is they are narrower and heavier than the wheels I have now. (CSL replicas through Alufelgen.) If we go 18s, I was planning to go with something in the same width and offset, but a little lighter. Let me know before you get rid of them, though.

Jparnes
100% stock OEM RFT tires and size.
No rubbing.
The wheels are 18x 8.5 up front and and 18 x 9.5 out back, so the wheels are 1 inch wider all around. The tires were slightly stretched to mount them but no issues and they look much wider than on the stock 18 x 8 and 18 x 8.5 rims.

Nick would you mind posting front and rear photos showing how your wider tires look? I'm gong to need new tires soon and this would help me decide on the size to get. Thanks in advance.
