Pass through hatch door latch is jammed...

I thought I read about this before but couldn't find the thread. Anyone else had their rear pass through door latch jam or break? I pull on the handle but nothing happens. I don't want to break it, but was wondering if there was any easy fix?

Try going at it from the trunk. Open the trunk-side door, then see if anything is interfering with the cabin-side door.

Yes, this was the situation with my car when I took delivery (i.e. pass through non functional from the factory).

At first I tried to self diagnose by opening the trunk side of the pass through, but all I saw was the ski bag and there were no obvious obstructions.

The fix ended up being a replacement of the entire rear panel (the door was defective and apparently the pass through door can only be ordered as a part of the complete rear panel assembly (SA told me the pass through door used to be a separate part but it was redesigned in 2013))

That was the first thing I did. There were no obstructions. The latch was still jammed. I have it at the dealer now...

The dealer ordered a whole new deck with door from Germany. While I was at it, I mention the tail lens issue, and without even batting an eye, they replaced both rear tail lenses. He says there was a service bulletin on it and they have been completely redesigned.
