about to buy a '10 sdrive35i...

I just sold my 335i and guess what...now I'm looking at the E89 sDrive35i.

Couple of questions:

1. What is the best way to find out which options a vehicle I'm looking at has?

2. How can I tell if E89 has Sports Package?

3. What else in terms of options would you be looking for?

1. Enter the last 7 of the VIN at http://www.bimmer.work (Isn't playing nice with Chrome for me, but IE worked fine)

2. Easiest way to check visually is to look for the "M Sport" lettering on the inside of the door sill.

Also the anthracite headliner.

3. The M Sport package was the one I really wanted together with the tough to find manual transmission. I also wanted the Navigation iDrive. I don't like the look of aftermarket radios in newer Bimmers and the iDrive has the satellite radio, ability to store mp3s, and Bluetooth streaming I wanted.

The other options are nice though. Rain sensing wipers are hugely convenient here where when it rains, it's rarely consistent. Without them you're changing the speed setting all the time. Heated seats and steering wheel are nice on cold days of course. Comfort access isn't something I looked for but I certainly got used to not ever taking my key out of my pocket. The Homelink is great if you have a garage door opener or gate you use a remote for.

Thanks for that link!!!

As far as Homelink, can you see that by looking at buttons on the rear view? My E90 had the rear view mirror buttons...

It doesn't have the M Sport package, though it has several of the options that would come in it like the Sport steering wheel, seats, and M Adaptive suspension. (Though that might have been a stand-alone option anyway) It just won't have the M Sport body kit, the anthracite headliner, the wheels, and things like the ///M door sill. It seems to have everything else including the cold weather and premium packages though

That's what I was thinking as well, just needed some experienced eyes on it. Besides the M Sport body kit and wheels, the M Adaptive Suspension seems like the most important part of the M Sport package. The others seem more cosmetic. Don't you think?

Definitely cosmetic. I like 'em, but with all things like that it's entirely subjective.

Missing the 677 Professional hi-fi. Not a big deal, but noticeably less power during top-down driving.
