Great, thanks It is dropped on H&R springs since I have Adaptive M suspension. I had KWv3 on my last E85 and was satisfied with that. But on the new one I still wanted to have original Adaptive damping

I think the ride height on the H&R springs is just perfect for the E89.

19" yes, its the cars original wheels I removed them with I thin plastic piece (Kjile på Norsk). Then I used a Tar and glue remover for the last glue that was still there after removing the badges. After that I quick polish
Thanks.....

What a car!! congrats.

1.What winter tires do you have on 19" wheels? (Brand&specs?)
2.How did the ride quality changend after lowering with H&R springs?
Big difference in harshness?
And does the variable dampers still work fine with the lowering springs?

Excellent mods. Alcantra fits nicely with the painted rear roll bar covers. I too am going to paint my rear covers Roll bar covers the body color- Space Grey, this spring.
H and R Springs- I too want to keep close to the stock ride/variable dampers but I need to drop the Z. Do you lose any functionality of the suspension with the new springs?

I have Nokian Hakkapelitta 7, they are supersoft for Nordic winters. Really good grip on snow. Dimensions is 235/35-19 front and rear.

I will change back for summer wheels in the weekend, but its still a lot of snow in Norway

The H&R springs got the best out of my Z4. They stiffened the car in bends, but ride quality was approx the same. The car feels more settled now I really recommend this mod on E89 with original adaptive M suspension.

My variable dampers are greater than ever

Yes, I think the Space grey Z will look really nice with painted roll bar covers. I did that with my last Z4 E85. That one was sterling grey:

sounds good..
My biggest concern is the lifetime of the original dampers in combination with the lowering springs.

The E85 roll bar covers look fantastic. I can't wait to get mine off and to the paint shop along with my front lower grill parts. That sealed the deal.
I have been considering chroming my stock 18" 293 wheels BUT the gloss black looks great against the Sterling Grey. I may need to re consider.
Then the drop with a set H & R Springs is necessary.
2nd cat delete for some straight pipes.
And then, and then, and then, and then, and then more and more next.

Then I have retrofitted a M footrest on my Z

There is one problem with retrofitting the original M footrest, it`s not possible to buy for the Z4 E89 I think it is because the dam footrest is glued to the floor.

So, this is what I did. I bought a F10 M footrest on ebay, the footrest looks the same but the F10 one is wider. So I had to split it to get the shape that would be possible to fit in the Z4

So here it goes:

The old one goes... Its really hard work to get it off

The mark shows how much that will have to go

Cutting away the extras from F10

After cutting, a little rough on the edges

So some grinding had to be done to get it all even

After grinding

Glue on footrest

Glue on carpet

Final result

I spent 28hours in the weekend detailing my Z4. I will do a own thread later with pics of that. But for now I show the final pics of the car in the used car department at the company I work for :-)

The pics show Summer wheels on, New velour floor mats with custom beige leather edges and retrofitted M footrest...

Sexy looking z as always
Breyton wheels suit the black much better than the red.
Funny how the colour can make a difference
Cheers

Thank you sir

Is it possible that mine sits even lower with the H&R springs than your red one do? Maby it could be a difference between cars with M adaptive and non adaptive M suspension! Weight of 35i vs 23i. Because I do not think its just the colour!!!

I, as I have postoed many times, love this Z. Maybe just me but I believe there more fitting wheels for your car. Besides that nothing short of brilliant and top notch custom jobs on it.
