thinking about buying but have one question

can the new sdrive 35i hold two golf bags with the top up and at least one bag with the top down??? I looked at some this weekend and it didnt look like you could fit anything in the trunk with the top down.

Best thing to do is take your golf bags down to the dealership and try it out yourself.

Translation from BMW Sweden:

This covers the entire year.
The variable luggage compartment in the BMW Z4 Roadster.
In the summer to the golf course, in the winter to skidpisterna: BMW Z4 Roadster has room for your equipment. In the luggage compartment can you take with you for up to four drink shoes or a 46-inch golfbag. With extra equipment loadthru you have space for one more. If you do not want to have with you two pairs of skis, you certainly keep in transport bag in bagagutrymmet. To unload the bulky objects, could you, when the roof is open, remove the package from the car's rear roof part. *

* Only in combination with extra equipment Comfort access.

Obs, bing translation.

Top down = 1 golfbag

Top down and loadthru option = 2 golfbags

Since I never tried it and haven't got my car yet this may be wrong!

when you have the top down, one bag would fit under the small cover that is under the folded roof. To get the clubs out you have to lift the roof but only part way. It really isnt a big deal. If you want to hold two sets, you have to have the roof up. Buy the car, you will love it,, I sure do.

Garage List
Even with the top up you CANNOT fit 2 standard cart bags in the trunk. Only 2 small carry bags with maybe 6-8 clubs but not long drivers.

Hmm. I only have room for just my golf bag with either the top up or down, and it's not some overly huge golf bag like you sometimes see. Maybe if you lay them in opposite directions? I could only imagine the base of the golf bag posing a problem...

Quick edit:

I too debated between the M3 coupe and the Z4. In the end, I just didn't really have a need for a "track" car that, and this will get me into trouble, looks like every other 3-Series on the road. The Z4 is a rarer breed on these roads, looks better than the M3, and provides an exhilarating drive..especially with the top down.

Simple answer is yes.

With the top up I can get a cart bag and a 'normal' carry bags each with 14 clubs inc drivers into the trunk - but you must have the 'ski' bag option. Alternatively, with the top up I can get a large cart bag complete with all the clubs and a largish trolley (Sun Mountain push cart) into the trunk. With the top down I can still get 2 'normal' carry bags and all the clubs in the trunk again you need the ski bag option. That said it is a little easier with slightly slimmer bags!
I find the trunk to be plenty large enough - see http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...210739#p210588 . In this case I took my wife's carry bag and my A Frame just to make sure I could get the rest of the essentials in the car!
