Remote range

How long is the range on your remote? I feel like mine is really short. I have to get pretty close for it to register (maybe 30 feet?). I wonder if it has anything to do with my tint (FormulaOne Pinnacle ceramic). Although it's supposed to be non-metallic.

Are you referring to the garage opener integrated into the rear view mirror? The farthest I've seen it work is about 50 ft in both the Z4 and wife's E90.

No, the key remote.

That's about what I see also. Yet someone on here posted once they can hold the remote to the bottom of their chin and the range is much better.

At first I thought they were a little off, but I do this a lot. I just did it coming out of my office after work and from 150 feet I can make the top start opening if I hold the end of the remote to the bottom of my chin, the end with out the key in it.

Try it, I thought it was nuts too but I'll be damned if it doesn't help. You can stand far away and the lights will not flash on the car, hold it on your chin and the car responds to the buttons.

Yeah, they did that on Myth Busters. But the awesomeness of remotely opening your top is somewhat offset by the dorkiness of holding the remote to your chin

No, the key remote.
Ahh the remote key

It worked from about 40 ft while i was walking towards it on my way home from work. This was in a covered garage with a clear line of sight. Car is tinted but don't know the brand. I was 4 posts away when I clicked the remote for the door and trunk.
