the 2014 35is - twin turbos (N54) or "TwinPower"(N55)
Confused after seeing this...
"Weak BMWs Trading on Pedigree, Class Says" http://www.courthousenews.com/2015/0...class-says.htm brief excerpt> "Calling the N55 the "false twin" of the N54, Bedi says BMW acted "to manipulate consumers into believing that the vehicle contained twin turbos, when, in actuality, it contains only a single turbo." The N54's other "false twins" include the N20, N26 and B38 engines, according to the complaint. Among model-year 2014 cars that BMW has also falsely marketed with "TwinPower Turbo" nomenclature "the 228i, M235i, 320i, 328i, 335i, 428i, 435i, 528i, 535d, 535i, 640i, 740i, 740li, Z4 sDrive28i, Z4 sDrive35i, and Z4 sDrive35is," Bedi says. "They are all False Twins," the complaint continues."... article continues |

IMHO I don`t agree with the lawsuit. Customers should do their homework and SA's could help by making it clear at time of purchase. Agree it could be misinterpreted, but still...gotta do your homework when buying any car.

so, is this complaint false, at least in terms of listing the Z4 sDrive35is of being the "False Twin", or what they (plaintiff) claimed to be the N55 "TwinPower Turbo"? Is it just me or does this plaintiff's claim, or at least the way it's written in the article mistake-ridden?

While confusing and induces stupidity to those who do not do their homework, this is something that doesn't warrant a lawsuit IMO.

People will file a law suite over anything.
I wanted HOT coffee, bought HOT coffee, Marked HOT, Coffee and then spilled HOT coffee on myself causing burns, due to my own incompetence and my own fault and But I need to sue Micky D's and win millions. If my memory serves me (sometimes not well) GM lost a similar marketing suit many years ago labeling GM vehicles , GM Vehicles when in fact some had Isuzu engines under the hood. GM had a owner stake in Isuzu and still does, but loses a law suite. Keep attorneys rich.
