Hmmm....I feel like the costs are adding up and I haven't even gotten quotes for this thing yet! I should start a "gofundme" page. Any of you members sympathetic enough to donate? |

Lol you would rename him and put a badge on him! No way! No man could ever appreciate him, you need to get one for your wife though in a few years. It makes school runs way more fun.

An eclectic drawing a Ford Pinto stanced out, maybe a family portrait, a portrait of me even...., I'm only doing this because Lups offered to buy me beer. |

LOL - let me get around to building the garage first and see how it looks. I'd have to assess whether there would be a spot in the finished garage that would give the proper honour to your artwork that it so richly deserves.

Just imagine how much it'll be worth in 5 to 10 years. It's an investment and probably the most valuable thing in your garage.

If the stairs are only to access a storage area/attic. Put them on the back side of the garage so you can't see them from your house or the street.
The 18' wide garage door is where it's at. i was surprised to find out that the average double garage door width was 14'. It's kind of hard to see how much wider they are than normal. I don't have a great picture. But if you don't like the look of a garage, you won't like my house. lol This was at the tail end of the build. Garage doors are dark brown now and don't appear so overbearing.

but seriously, don't make it too shallow. 25' is the minimum. 30' would be awesome. Come to think about it, mine may be 25 deep. I'll check when i get home.

Alright, as promised, some photos of my two-car garage. Dimensions are 18' wide, and 22' deep with a 16' garage door. Concrete was poured 24" deep, rebar every 12" made out of 1/2" steel. Heavy duty concrete was used.
