Glad you're happy with the deal...So what's the difference you had to pay for the GTR?

Congrats on the GTR but I have to ask why the sudden and extreme change in car? Did you not like the Z4? Just curious because I have briefly thought of getting one myself but the fuel pump failures is holding me back.

I did have a fuel pump failure at 6,000 miles. I also had to have the SOS cable replaced immediately after buying the car. They had to pull the entire dash, drivers seat, and various other panels. The wire runs from the center of the dash to the rear of the car and it was shorted. This didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. But other than that there was nothing wrong with the car. The styling is fantastic IMHO. I wish the suspension was active like in the M3. With all the commuting I do, the convertible top just wasn't getting used enough. By the way, the basic stereo is useless when the top is down. Make sure you get premium sound. My car had the manual transmission (which I loved) except in heavy traffic during the commute, so that started getting old. I guess I should have opted for the DCT. The car just lost that fun factor for me. Don't let that bother you though, I trade cars often for this reason. I am hoping the GTR will hold my interests much longer than normal. I still love BMW's. Good luck with whatever car you choose.

GTR is an wesome car and in a whole different league than the Z4. I am not surprised that you were given a much larger trade allowance as there is a lot more profit in the GTR than a Z4. $35K difference plus invoice on the GTR adds up to $???

Same markup on GTR as Z4. Invoice was 79,6xx MSRP was 84,xxx. About 5 grand, same as my Z4. Invoice on my Z4 was 54,xxx and MSRP was 59,495. Dealer hold back is obviously more, 3% of 80K is more than 3% of 59K.

Not true, see post above. Manufacturer is making more but not the dealers.

For my Z4 that is not even 300 miles for the last 5 months, the retail is 53K with MSRP of 65K. Not good...
