The X3M release caught my attention. Will there be a X3 M40i released in 2017? How will the X3M distinguish itself from the M Sport variant of the standard X3?

That's the thing i'm "not getting", as the apparent "it will sell like hot cakes".
The branding is not like Range Rover - at all, not in Scandinavian that is. Jag made shitty cars and rebadged Ford's...! I get the Evoque, it deserves great sales, as with the jag SUV, i'm not so sure, to late to the game and not very uniqe imo.

"The Ultimate Driving Machine" is a marketing term for English speaking markets.
It is not used elsewhere as the global slogan for BMW is Freude am Fahren meaning Sheer Driving Pleasure. The term "The Ultimate Driving Machine" is not used globally but only in select English speaking markets.we don't use that term in Munich unless speaking, regarding English Speaking Markets.

I really don't understand the "outdated" term everyone's been using. For a 2011 design it's still a fantastic looking SAV. Simple and still technology wise up to date. We love our x3 and we'll continue to love it more for many years to come.

And there will be an all new and far lighter X3 next Summer.

See.......this is exactly what's putting me off a Macan, as I really don't want to go back to a touch screen system again, plus I find the Google Send to Car very useful.

The other issue is I really don't fancy waiting 12 months plus for a petrol Macan either or even longer as I it was the GTS that was floating my boat, but rumour is due to demand, waiting list for a build slot with some UK dealers has now reached 24 months and some dealers won't now even accept a GTS order.

BMW could seriously nick a lot of prospective customers from Porsche if they get the X3M right.

I just love to have a more accurate idea of UK timescales for when it's likely to go on sale here......as long as merino leather comfort multi-function comfort seats are an option

I definitely prefer the F25 side lines, much more muscular and exciting.
I agree they definitely built a lot of great character lines in the X3!

I hope BMW will finally introduce, for the UK market, an engine that sit between the 20d and 30d. Punchy and economical, the 20d is a good engine but not luxurious for a car priced as high as the X3. At idle it's gruff and the noticeable turbo lag between 0-2,000rpm.
I consider it an entry level engine for the X3. The 30d is sublime but is a big jump in price from the 20d and is also considerably more expensive to tax.

We need something in the middle.
