Is this a 35i or 35is?
This Orion Silver contender seems to have almost all its cards in order, as we say here in Italy.
The listing states 35is and the seller gives no indication of devious intentions; this is a 35i though isn't it? He states that the bumper hasn't been changed. The steering wheel is another giveaway. The wheels are unknown to me; he says they're 18s but they looks like 19s to me. He's offered more pictures although of the interior only. I've asked for interior + exterior shots and hopefully he replies with a good shot of the side so I can actually read the model designation. http://www.autoscout24.it/Details.as...6&asrc=st%7Cas |

Easy way to tell the difference: 35is has silver mirror caps, not body paint color. Also this car doesn't have the M Sport bumper or 35is wheels. He is mistaken.

Makes me wonder how much I should trust someone who doesn't even know what they're driving
Edit: so what's it likely to be missing that the 35is has standard? The only things I can think of are adaptive suspension (instant no sale if it doesn't have it) and the black headliner (annoying but sourcing one shouldn't be too stressful I'd think...) Just get the VIN NUMBER and take it to the the nearst dealer. They will run it and give a a complete model build and options sheet.
This will clarify direct from BMW what this car actually is. Don't trust the seller as they clearly do not know or are trying to pull one over on you, especially if they are selling at a 35i price but stating its a 35is.

That first site shows mine as a 35i with a manual transmission, it's really a 35is with a DCT (Factory data sheet confirms this). The second site gets it right. |

Weird. The chassis number he's given me is for a BMW from the 1970s.
It's the last seven digits isn't it? Can anyone help me out please? There's a Russian search engine as well but it's indecipherable... Chassis number he's given me is A006206C014 Cheers all. |

That number is not the VIN it might in fact be a chassis number but not a VIN. With the VIN you can certainly find out everything about the vehcile. ask him to take a picture of the vin and send it to you. It is viewable from the windshield on the drivers side.jsut above the cowling (where the window means the lower part of the vehicle.)
