OK, so I made a custom glass wind deflector after having the OEM mesh version. I love the way it looks, but I am replacing it and going back to the original. why? Because when the wind comes over the top of the windshield, it hits the deflector and bounces back into the cabin and blows on the back of my head and neck. Particularly noticeable on a cool day. Do you also find this? Just put your hand in front of the glass and feel the wind blowing back at you.

Hi ! the reason I opted for the clear glass is also a trade off!! Your are correct about the wind deflection being different from the fabric original, I would agree that because it lets some wind flow through it does not bounce back. BUT!! and here is my BUT!! the original fabric is very bad in terms visibility and for me this slight trade off it well worth it to be able to see very clearly anything in my rear view mirror.
The bounce back you speak of only comes in at higher speeds and you can off set this by dropping the rear windows.......
Having sold my old one, I used it to offset the cost of the glass one, the glass one also improves security!!!!!
I still have the fabric inserts in the headrests!!!

Love my wind deflector. Couldn't imagine the car without it. If you don't have one, get one!

I find 300 USD a lot of money for some cut glass tbh.
I'll def. buy one but if it can be at a more fair price, sure

Why do people get pleasure from doing Downers on a person's purchase, must get a kick out of acting cheap perhaps!!!! Plus if you can get this type of automotive glass and cut to correct shape with the relevant neat fixings then go find it and let everyone into your secret>>>>>>.
No one decry's a bargain but produce it ????

Hope that wasn't directed to me? Like I said, I LOVE the way it looks but I wouldn't mind buying a cheaper alternative if it looks the same and has a quality fitting.

I searched around before buying ours from roadster solutions. Down side of owning anything in limited production is everything for it is even more limited, hence even more expensive products. So, I had no problem dropping the $240 or so for it. We installed it in about 5 minutes at the Welt after delivery. Great product. But, it was pretty useless cruising over 120 mph. Had to pull over and put the top up

Is it safe to assume the glass is tempered? If not it could mean very bad news for your neck in a car accident.

Yes! if you go into their German web-site it supplies all the necessary details, it is Certified by the German Ministry of road Transport equivalent??? If you look in the pics you will see the kite mark!!!
This is one of the reasons I went with this company all of the screens are kite marked and they do them for lots of different manufacturers Porsche, Mercedes etc...Sometimes you have to pay a little more to ensure you buy a good quality product.

I assume that means w/ all the windows up, right? With the windows down (well, also w/ the windows up), even w/ the wind deflector, there are still some srsly strong winds coming into the cabin. I always have to use lots of hairspray!

I don't like the look of any of them and that includes the OEM mesh one, they spoil the look of the car IMO (even more so with that tacky Z4 logo on!)
