is the ring on the headlight still yellow for z4 2013

Hi all,

I just realized that my headlight rings are still yellow eventhough my z4 is 2013! Has anyone order a 2013 z4 and still have yellow rings on the headlight instead of the white?

Yip just picked my 2013 sdrive 20i msport last week and it has the yellow rings. I just ordered x2 h8 led bright white bulbs from eBay, arrived next day and took 2 mins to fit....now has the bright White rings and looks a million times better.

Until the LCI is launched mid 2013 the halos/rings remain yellow.

Or can, as many people, convert to LUX halo upgrade or similar product for blue/white halos.

Thanks Keeperlit, it's great to know that I can change it without paying too much. Please put the link of the site you ordered the h8 white bulbs from ebay in your reply so I won't get the wrong ones. Also it's there anyway you can take pictures of the parts or screw from the bulbs area where I have to removie to access the original bulbs and not mess up the car.

You can send your pics from your iphone to your email and download from your email and use your computer to upload the pics from the zpost

Keeperlit, please send me the direct link to the 2x H6 white lights because I couldn't find one that has the z4 in the compatible list. I wanted to change it so bad

Also is the way you change the bulbs just by looking at p.171 is the owner manual where it said daytime running light: H8 35W?

Thanks,
Phan

The sellers email is eBay@fizzmo.co.uk and it is the h8 led marker bulb set for z4. I'll take pics tonight but it really is a 2 min job. Lift the hood and you will see a circular cover at the light unit that just twists off allowing you access to the headlight unit. You will see the side light connection just turn it approx 90o towards the opposite side of the car and it will release the bulb. The h8 led is just a direct replacement.

I'll post pics later.

Cheers

Leigh

No not pics of install process, just the final result. Install of these lights has been well documented on the forum.

thanks for instruction keeperlit, how much was the total you paid for the bulbs?

Was it total of 2 bulbs; one bulb each side and each bulb lights up the two rings on each side?

38 pounds or around 60 dollars delivered, its just 1 bulb each side and they come as a set. Yip pg 171 in the manual tells you how to do it. Ill put pics if the car up as soon as I can.

Sellers name is fizzmocouk, they are a gold rated seller. Make sure it's the UK you search.

Did you get the cold package or the heated seats? They are great to use during cold weather

I just order mine, came out to be $42 US dollars. Hope it's worth it!

After you install the H8 bulbs, are they as bright as the new 3series or 6 series angel eye rings?

I have heated seats so no problem getting the top down on a sunny day even if its cold. They are very bright, hard to tell the difference between the new 3 .... I think you will be pleased!

I went LED. I bought the MTEC H8 bulbs originally and they lose their 'blue' after a while and start to look a bit more yellow again, though not as yellow as the OEM bulbs. LED is sharp white/blue light and looks great. Cost just £55.

Nothing will be as bright as the BMW OEM LEDs on the 3 series, they're designed with LED in mind, our cars aren't.
