I used some pliers (with a cloth over the jaws) to hold the base and twisted it off with my hand. I put the new one on hand tight, no threadlocker (yet) but that might happen soon.

Do they fit perfectly? I read elsewhere that if they fit the e85 or the z3, they will not fit the e89.

They are close but not perfect, the Peugeot one matches the base angles perfectly on the E89.

bill123, (K) I think the Peugeot and Citroen are identical antennae. Sure look like it to me. I also think the Peugeot was a couple of pounds more although my postage was more than the cost of the aerial anyway...

Look great ..!!

Yep Peugeot and Citroen one's are exactly the same. However, Citroen's is more expensive here for some reason. So went with Peugeot.

Looks like the Peugeot/Fiat/Citroen fit the best then Mangowalk and then the stubbyantenna.com ones.

Thanks guys!

For those in US interested in ordering the Peugeot stubby, there is a dealer that has them on Ebay UK . I just ordered one; total cost including shipping to US , is $12 and change.

stubby antenna

Just received my stubby antenna from the UK dealer ( Citworld on Ebay UK ) ; as others have stated, the Peugeot/Citroen stubby is a perfect fit for the Z4. Takes 10 seconds to unscrew the original and replace with the stubby.
It only took a week to arrive from UK ; cost including shipping was $12 and change.
The current active Ebay item number is 250680641242.

So is there one stubby available that has the SAME reception quality (or better) as the OEM?

Don't see how it would be possible... You won't see a difference anyway if you don't use FM radio.
