Issues registering battery

2011 Z4 35i ... replaced battery with same type from BMW. Both ISTA and Carly App failed to register new battery. ISTA showed these messages:

Possible cause(s) of fault:
No communication with IBS or engine electronics.
Program status of the engine electronics cannot save any battery exchange
Terminal 15 was not on
Engine running

Terminal 15 is on as lights and radio are working.
Engine is not running.
No fault codes stored.
If IBS has some issue, won't it throw fault code? Visually inspected IBS and no signs of damage.
What else could be causing issue registering new battery ?

(Replacing 7+ year old battery with same type from BMW. At that time, I could register with ISTA without any issue.)

🎯 that's it ... I was inserting the key, pressing the brake and pressing start button without starting the engine.
Tried inserting the key, pressing start button without pressing the brake and without starting the engine. It worked !!!
Thank You 🙏🏻
