no. the auto with the n54 is 3500. the manual with the n52 is like ~3200.

I saw it at the dallas auto show as well. It's an awesome car, but I'm with you on that it will be heavy on the weight as well as price.

The the hard top convertible is very heavy, as you can tell by the weight of the 335 hard top. The converting hard top on the 3 series adds close to 500lbs. In my opinion though, there's no reason why this car should weigh as much as a 1 series.. I don't know how BMW justifies that one...
Edmunds claims with the N54 and DCT it's curb weight is 3494 lbs.

I bet you could easily cut 200 lbs off the car just going to a coupe from a roadster.
