Radio Professional or/+ Satellite Navigation
I ordered my car with the Sat Navigation and when I did my test drive I noticed that the car came with Sat Nav but had no Radio professional with the display for mp3s or telephone numbers. Does it make sense to add the Radio Professional so as to have the display as well as various shortcuts NOT present on the Basic Radio ???????
Please can someone reply ? |

i have ordered the sat nav with foldable screen and idrive. however I saw on the catalogue that the Professional Radio (second picture below) if ordered without sat nav, comes with a digital display and shortcut buttons for mp3 or telephone calls. is it possible to order the professional radio + the sat nav and does it make sense ? the setup which comes with the sat nav is the same as the first pic. hope you understand what I mean ....

No, the Sat Nav replaces the Professional Radio.

I would also assume the Sat Nav & iDrive has the iPod, Radio, and telephone controls, no matter which radio is chosen. In the U.S. we get two choices, standard stereo or Premium Sound pkg. I have the later. Nav & iDrive is a seperate option. iDrive replaces the standard radio display and controls. You simply switch between nav, radio, CD & aux (including iPod), telephone, & setup screens to control the respective function. You can split screen as well to have a small display area for nav instructions, trip computer, map, etc. The shortcut buttons can be nav addresses, phone numbers, radio stations, and maybe a few other things I don't know about.
