Same with the GLS, but to a lesser extent. I thought the suspension was better, and the engine also better than in th RR, but found the Command system to also be very difficult to use. By comparison, the X5 is much more logically laid out in terms of controls, just as solid, the idrive is in a different galaxy, drivetrain is superb, and drives like a BMW without being punishing. If they can transfer all of this goodness to the X7 while at the same time improving some of the ambiance (leather quality and little things here and there) then it could be an awesome car. That's what the Q7 has got: good drivetrains, polished interior, excellent driving experience. A polished product in all respects, Audi has been really paying attention recently. And beyond driving over grass, a mucky driveway or a few inches of snow none of these vehicles are really taken off road. A function of tire choice more than true off road capability.

I wonder how ugly it'll be. BMW's design language doesn't seem to work on larger cars, as the evidenced by the chubby boat looking F01 and G11 7ers. Oversized grilles, Lexus-looking tail lights, and not at all sleek-looking designs.

When is the X7 scheduled to be debuted? They've been working on this model for almost a decade now. Hurry up! I'm tired of having a Mercedes GL in my driveway (wife's).

Correct me if I am wrong, but there was a post in X5 forums that during December last year, a pic of the X7 was accidentally leaked as an X5.
I think this picture is the production X7 and it matches the one shown in this post |

Will the X7 share any components with the Cullinan?

The Cullinan is huge , practically the size of the Phantom which the all new Phantom will premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt this September.
The Cullinan will be the worlds ultimate and luxurious SUV. The new Phantom and Cullinan will be the Worlds best luxury cars.

Update - April 25, 2017:
It looks like BMW has brought out its full lineup of upcoming models, as its future flagship SUV, the X7, has now also hit the Nurburgring for the first time.

I love the lines and technology it has, it's going to be a hit! And look how flat it corners when it's in eco-mode. Just think how good it will be as an m-sport.

either this thing is really low, or they loaded that sucker up with kitty litter in the back to keep it from sliding around in the snow.

Pure Awesomeness !!!!
BMW is clearly the world leader in minivans. Looks like a Lincoln Navigator wanna-be. Will the last German engineer / driving enthusiast left at BMW please turn off the lights?
