Garage List
2009 BMW Z4  [0.00]
1. Clearbra/protective layering on body panels:

In my opinion is not that clear and l don't like seen it.

2. No front plates
State of Florida 2nd best perk after the Sun every day.. we don't need it.

3. Clear reflectors:
They don't bother me at all.

4. Tints:
Privacy, Privacy and Privacy, then the ac cools much faster than without it.

5. Debadging:
I don't like it, everytime I see a 328-335i debagged in miami they want to have a race with my little baby.

6. really large wheels:
My car runs better with 19' and Vredestein Giugaro Design.

There;s a guy in the UK that sells roundels with different colors and I would get those but I don't know how to take off the roundel in the trunk lid.

I have had the stick on CF cover ups on my roundels for 7 months with no lifting issues. I do keep the car covered and in the garage so it is not exposed to the weather full time. I too eventually would like to get permanent carbon fiber black and white Roundels and wheels caps all around.

Orange reflectors are really not a problem on a yellow car...

Clearbra - the way I look at it -

Negatives:
1) It costs $300 - $400 to get it done right
2) The car does not look as good with it
3) You never truly get to enjoy your perfect fromt bumper unless you take the clearbra off
4) I tried one once and it yellowed over time here in the desert.

For resale, yes you may get a few extra dollars if the front bumber is perfect, but will it be an extra $300-$400. It is hard to say.

Positives:
1) You have peace of mind that your front bumper is protected.

2) You never have to get upset every time you see a small nick (that no one else will really ever see unless they get 3 feet from your front facia and inspect it)

1. Clearbra - I don't like seeing the clearbra lines going across the hood. I have a Lotus Exige and my clear bra yellow after 5 years (white car). Had to get it pulled and it pull off paint. I didn't replace it and just resprayed. Of course I have bunch of nicks on it but I guess I'll live with that and respray every 5+ years instead.

Plus it gives it character as not a garage queen.

2. No front plates - illegal in California. I don't want a poor reason to be pulled over...um in case my buddy is driving my car and had a small drink or two.

3. Clear reflectors - indifferent

4. Tints - I like a little but hate the limo tint.

5. Debadging - I like the clean look. If you are a car enthusiast, you'll know what kind of car it is by looking at the fenders/brakes/wheels/bumpers/exhaust, etc. If you aren't a car person, you probably couldn't tell a regular 3 from an M3 to begin with (like my wife).

6. really large wheels - depends on the body. Some cars need bigger wheels to fit it while other having bigger wheels will over power the look of the car. Also depends on the design and spokes. The Z4 with 19" is perfect for filling the wheel well.
