High gas usage
Im at 13.9L/100km usage. I spend all my time in manual mode, 90% normal mode. Have the ESS tune. City driving - lots of traffic lights etc. Minimal highway.
Do you think the ESS tune is responsible for the high usage or is this normal?? |

I second the right foot of yours. Im in 95% city driving with tons of lights also with ESS stage 2 all the time. Getting on average 11.52L/100km. In normal driving, ESS or no ESS should be about the same efficiency but with a heavy right foot the difference is a lot bigger.
Try 1 full tank without flooring it. Keep it in D and normal mode, you might be surprised with its fuel economy. I drive in Sport and Manual mode all the time and still get 11.52L/100km.

I thought about tuning the M3 with ESS tune after I get the Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system sometime next year. I heard they send you a device to do it yourself. Have you had any issues with programming it? What happens if the dealership uploads a software updates? I assume it wipes out your updates

I agree, it's the right foot.
I have a hard time myself, although the snow tire are helping me in my case. they make the car a bit more squirlly. |
