Year end sale
I stopped in at one of my BMW dealers in town last Wednesday to ask about the year end sale and a discount of $2,500.00 on a new Z4. I was told the car had to be delivered by Jan 3rd or no end of year discount. They didn't have a Z4 in stock and I don't think you could get one to the dealer in time to delivery it by Jan 3rd. I would think if I placed an order with a very large down payment it would count as a sale. Anybody else run into this issue?

Can you not make a deal with your local dealership to find you one at the stated discount? I purchased my first Z4 a 2008 30is as a year end sale in November 2009 (in any case it was posted as a year end sale). You mentioned large down payment I am reminded of the saying "you can get almost anything for money" give it a shot talk to the top guy at the dealership not just some salesman. Good Luck.

If you place an order by Jan 3 you will get the $2500 incentive. What you won't get is the low (0.00120) money factor on a lease. After Jan 3 that goes up to 0.00195.

Thanks for your comments, guys. This will involve the trade in of a 2009 Corvette and the balance in cash. I think tomorrow I will visit with another BMW dealer and ask the question of management. Good suggestion. Problem here in Denver is, nobody has any Z4's in stock. It would seem that if you have a solid contract for an automobile, it should be counted as a sale. Nothing happens until somebody makes an offer. I have done my homework, so maybe it's time to do just that and see what happens. I don't even want the car until the end of March.

Well, I checked it out this morning, and the vehicle has to be delivered by Jan 3rd to get the $2,500.00 discount. I will probably get this done, but now the pressure is off to do it before the end of the year. I will take a swing at it though as the end of the year is a good time to buy.

Rolf-Dieter- Thanks for the PM. Did you get my PM in response? Thank You. I have taken the advice from the forum and as of this morning, I have two deals working at 2 dealerships which are close but out of town. Should know something today. I have never done an internet deal as I have in the past enjoyed the process of buying a car. The last 2 times I went to my local BMW dealer I was disgusted with the trade-in offer and having to hear the auction story once again. In 2010 I went to trade a Mini Cooper S on a BMW and ended up with a 2010 Cadilliac CTS Premium all wheel drive as a daily driver. Cadilliac discounted the CTS a good percentage and allowed the amount of trade-in that showed in NADA. That's one reason I didn't go to this dealer yesterday for a quote. He is close to home and I will talk to them, but only after I am better armed with other quotes. Let's see how it plays out today.

Jayda. I know I will like the car. I have owned a Z3 and liked it. This car however is a step or two above the Z3. It's a done deal if we are close on price.

So are you ordering or picking up a new existing one? Color and specs?

Jayda. If we agree on price, I will be ordering a 2012 28i. Silver/Red. auto trans, prem pkg, prem sound, NAV, and comfort access. Space Gray with Red is possible. Same two colors were my problem when I ordered my new 2002 Z3. My Z3 was silver/black. I have owned Corvettes for years and one of my favorites was the 63 split window coupe, silver with red inside. Let's see what today brings.

We have agreed on price and will be meeting with the dealer at 3:30 PM today to place the order. Internet shopping is the way to go. Ended up with 4 quotes and will be purchasing from the dealer closest to me where I have done business before.
