Rear brake light bulb is out - how to replace?

Does anyone have a DIY on replacing the rear brake light? It is just 1 bulb from what I can tell, on the innermost area of the light. I tried to search in these forums but can't find anything. Also - is it just a bulb that I can get from the local auto parts store that I can replace myself? Thanks!

This is all I could find. Wait for the second video clip. http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/20...hts/tail_light

However this blowup of the light assembly doesn't indicate there are any LED modules involved!

Thanks... That's all I could find as well... Hopefully someone else on here has more info on how to change the bulb... I don't really want to take it to the dealer. It's confusing.. Is it a single bulb or do I have to replace the whole unit?

It's a single bulb.
But be careful how you reinsert it, if it falls out of the holder you will have to remove the tail light to recover.
Another fantastic BMW design.
Whatever was wrong with a bayonet fitting.
interesting how it's called a long life bulb.
So what's that, 1 year, 5, 15 ?
I replaced two at 4 years 40k miles.
Some car I have never replaced bulbs.

The car only has 56,000 miles on it - I guess I'll work on replacing it myself - I'm the same - some cars I have never replaced bulbs on either
