Shifter in Sports Mode
I have a 2004 E89 with 7-gear sport automatic transmission with dual clutch. What is the difference between sport mode with the shifter in "S" (sports) position and being in full sports + mode?

Do you have an owner's manual? That's a good place to answer your question.

If i remember correctly placing the shifter in S (moving left only) changes trans shift points only and even those are a little less aggressive as pressing the sport button. The sports button changes the adaptive suspension as well as sets more aggressive shift points in the transmission. Also in turbo'd models the sports button also changes tunes in the ECU. So you could get a HP boost.

Sure it's a typo but what year is your car? If it's a 2004 then it's not the E89, it's an E85, which was manufactured until 2008. If it's an E89 it has to be 2009 or newer.
