Top Down Weather has Arrived
At least in Charlotte, NC, at least this week.
Back in February (2/21) it was almost warm enough but I was driving my other car that weekend. On 3/02 it snowed! On 3/06 I dropped the top for a car show and drove it home that way but it was only 39 F degrees early in the morning. I ran the heated seats for the 10 minute drive. Today hit 70+. On a work day So, I dropped the top for the commute home. What a stress relief! I smiled all the way home. Is anyone else able to enjoy their car yet?

Yup,
same zone as you. Hit 60 degrees and I hit the road with the top down all day for the first time. Great drive in the mountains and hills. Funnest drive I ever had. First convertible. Worth every dime. Soon as it warms up, and greens up, I'm headed across country, coast to coast. JZ |

Hello Richard in NC,
As you know, we're quite close by you. The temperature reading on the Z4 about 1pm was 74 degrees F and the sun was shining brightly. Guess what? The top was down and it felt great! Best regards, Ed |

I picked up my car yesterday afternoon at my dealer in Annapolis and it was 58 degrees. I dropped the top for a few minutes just to make sure it worked properly. Today the high was 61 but but by the time I got off work it was back in the 50s so no chance to go for a top down ride. Hopefully it won't be long before we see temps in the 70s.

Congratualtion, top down
But here in PHUKET, THAILAND. this time of the year is "very hot" (we have 3 seasons: hot, hot-hot and very hot) It is unwise to drive with top down during day time, too hot, too much sun

Even with the fair amount of snow still on the ground, I dropped the top in the neighborhood and drove around. The highway and main roads have a lot of melted runoff, so there is a lot of "spray"
Interesting finding, when my top closes and the windows go up, the passenger window does not close. Its as if the pinch function is activated. I run my hand along the window groove and the window closes. Any thoughts??

I had similar issue on E85 - the windows would randomly decided to go down or would not close all the way. They ended up replacing both motors (claimed bad sensors) and reprogrammed them (whatever that means). My father gave me some flack over this. He said in his day when he wanted to open the windows he would do this - then he makes window cranking motion.

It has been top down weather here in Rhode Island for five days straight. We are not in the seventies yet, but full sun and high fifties and low sixties. I'll take it. I have been driving with the top down every day!

That's a common problem. It's apparenntly a very fine adjustment. Mine will do that about every other time I put the top back up. So far in two times this year its worked OK. I'd only get it looked at if its consistent.

The weather forecast is calling 64 to 68F this weekend in the San Francisco bay area.
Last weekend it was also around 68F but ended up getting a speeding ticket in Los Gatos/Saratoga Hwy9 (great twisty mountain roads).
