How to set GPS to detect Speed Cams ?
Is there any way to detect speed cams via the stock GPS system ??? If so, could you explain how ? thanks

not the factory system, although I have seen (online) some concept iDrive systems with Internet showing speed cams in Euro. I think garmin/tomtom can do it. good luck

detection ? not really but if you've the bmw dvd you can alter the iso image and put a custom tpd directory on it, load it in your system and see the cams as POI. details on the gpsunderground website

but on FTD you'll find an already patched DVD (sorry guys, Europe only): FTD 1137318 (BMW Nav Pro Europe 2010 incl Speedcams)

I thought you couldn't update the Z4 nav via dvd. Was told by my dealer it was download only no dvd involved.
Still waiting for a update to the sat nav though!! Version 2008 02 is installed. |

according to my manual , an update should be done by DVD.
But the installing of POI (speedcams) would be nice by USB stick like the beamer: Manual of X5 (the car itself doesn't show the option mentioned) after the first update maybe ....

if anyone figures this out can you please post a step-by-step? would be exceptionally handy here...have already been flashed 4 times...not good, but as of yet havent recieved any tickets...whew!

You might search the X6 forum bc I read a post on it over there 2 or 3 months ago. I've been looking for myself and if I find it I'll post the link.
There a website (and it may be gpsunderground.com, just don't remember) where you can get traffic cam poi's for the US and there's discussion on how it's loaded into the on-board system as well. Sorry can't be more help. |
