Random Play for Hard Drive Music Collection

We have the premium sound package and navigation system. Is there some way to select random play for music collections on the hard drive and have that be the default or at least have the system retain the last used setting?

It's a nuisance having to reselect random play all the time.

I've the same problem.

I think that unfortunately you must re-select it every time

Pretty sure you can't. You can't even save it as a favourite button.

Agreed - we had tried saving the function as a favourite/favorite button and it didn't work. Hopefully appropriate people at BMW read this forum and will note how silly it is that one has to reset the random play function every time it's wanted, and make some programming available to change it. No doubt wishful thinking on our part!

Same here when I switch playlist on my ipod. Always need to reselect random play again. Not big of a deal really but it would be nice if it could default to your last setting.

it's funny how much we can program differently on the car, and yet all these little things are simple and you can't do it. random, repeat, sport mode, closed idrive...

I set a favorite button 1 to select random, so whenever I have an iPhone or other playlist I just press it and it ramdomizes after that. I agree a setting that stays would be better.

I note that if you hover over a button it shows the function of the favorite button.
