Am Radio Quit

Two days ago my AM Radio quit working. Just static on all stations that I previously had great reception on.

FM and CD work fine. I have HD radio so I tried turning the HD off and on, and I also removed and re-installed the antenna.... still nothing.

Anyone else experience this?

not turning on, but intermittently....the dealer told me it was a known problem and required a software upgrade. Dealer did the software upgrade and not a problem since.
Hope your dealer can solve the problem.

I listen to Phila AM Talk Radio on the morning commute, Sports, Traffic, News. Which is actually good because the radio in this Z4 sucks for music !!!

Actually the HD-AM sounds like FM, so the crappy BMW radio actually works fine for me.... until it stopped working !!

Very interesting. I'm having the same problem with FM on our radio. I wonder if this is a Canadian-spec issue, as our car is also Can-spec, and it goes with us to Winnipeg this summer. If I can convince the Belgian dealer at this end to do a software upgrade, then no worries. If not, then we'll wait until we return to the great white North.

AM Radio came back on itself today following a car wash..... maybe something to do with all the salt from the roads here in the NorthEast...... anyway Happy Days are hear again !!

I listen to AM !!! Well, starting not to. Here in austin a lot of the AM sports shows are broadcasting on FM channels at the same time.

I've been having a similar problem with FM. Just figured it out. Radio always works when I use the key to lock and unlock the car (pressing the buttons on it). Radio usually does not work when I use the comfort access feature (touch the door handle to unlock, and the sensor by the door handle to lock). Sounds like a software problem to me, maybe related to comfort access feature.
