Nobody said they were LUX!
The OP said they do not dim!

Cheap shot at advertising your product which is triple the cost when someone has found an alternative

Truth be told, the LUX worked very well for me. But I had the earlier "silver edition", which does not fit E89. I would have gladly paid an upgrade fee to get the newer "grey edition", which from what I understand is the same except the heatsink is machined slightly differently so that it fits more cars (including E89). Unfortunately I was told that there is no upgrade program and I'd have buy a new set, which is what prompted me to check out other alternatives.

Ah, my lack of attention to detail. Thanks for pointing that out.

Looks good Maniac, a lot better VFM than the LUX angel eyes for what looks like similar results.

Have you received your kit yet? Do you have some pics to share?
I have ordered mine and I am waiting to receive it.

However I also noticed that recent BMW models (X1/X6/1 Serie/etc.) have stock white Angel Eyes. Any idea if kits for those models are compatible with the Z4? and if yes, Where can we get them on the web? They seem to be much brighter than those on ebay.

Stock (new) BMW's with LED halos use completely integrated lighting, they are not a bulb.

Here you go:
Side by side daytime DRL's

Side by side daytime with xenons

I would also question the need and time to place the control unit outside the bulb encloser as done further back in this thread by another member. There are no other bulbs like main/dipped headlights within this space to produce heat, it just contains the LED's. I suspect the included instructions say to place outside for these reasons.
Quick and easy upgrade that makes the car look fresh and up to date.
Here is a pic of the install using a zipper tie to hold the control unit. :

Thanks Pacemaker1000 for sharing pics
It looks definitely nice and worthing it. I can't wait to receive mine.

Have you changed interior lights as well?
It is pretty much the same feeling.. Once you notice the yellow color inside your car and trunk in contract to the nice white one from LEDs, it has to go

I've seen a car with the led lights inside and I didn't like it. I won't be doing that to mine I don't think. It looked cold and bright. I prefer the interior lights to be the warm yellow.. at least here in the UK where its wet and cold most of the time, you want to look and feel warm inside

You are right. I can understand that, the white might feel colder.

However, for consistency with my "Let's change all the yellow lights with white ones" project, better visibility I needed in the trunk, I had to take that step

I just received my kit this morning and installed it: I am very happy of the result!!
Easy installation, color is perfect and 20W lights seem to be powerful enough in daylight.
Bought them on ebay for $70 from "cortse" seller.

Description:
  • 20W CREE LED Angel Eye. 4 CREE Q5 LED light bulb; 5W each LED chip, 20W per light bulb
  • Color is 6000K (which is the exact color I was looking for)

Pic1: Box + 2 lights
Pic2: Closer look to 1 light
Pic3: Halo lights on
Pic4: Halo lights fading out when switching off

I've been thinking about doing this, since I really dislike my yellow headlights. I have a technical question however (more curiosity than anything and doesn't impact my decision one way or the other); how does only 1 bulb illuminate both rings? Is there some sort of light refraction taking place inside the headlight assembly to get both rings to light up, with only 1 bulb?

Refraction, yes, the two rings are 1 part.
