It's the same, it just looks different because the bumper is made for Euro plates.

So, there is little reason to wait for the 13MY to come out. All this time I was waiting, because I thought there would be LCI changes. If there aren't any really cool differences, I might aswell order a '12.

Not gonna happen. I went into my local BMW Center three days ago to order a new 2012. BMW is no longer taking orders for them. They are in the process of gearing up for the 2013 to come out. It's a grey area right now as it is too late to order a 2012 and too early to order a 2013.

Agreed. The integration and lines with the top up is the best there is, I think. My folding hardtop miata always reminded me of a pick-up truck with the roof up. My EOS was bulky looking. My SLK was ok, neither bad nor great. However, the Z4 looks most excellent! I was watching the Top Gear review of the 09' Z4 and they said it looked odd and mis-proportioned with the top up! What were they looking at?!?

Really? The episode with the dinosaurs? I thought they really liked the Z4 both top up/down - but really loved it with the top down. Odd, because it was raining while they were testing it.

Maybe my memory is playing a trick with my brain because I like the Z4 both top up and down

I'll rewatch it on YouTube.

Yup! It was the one with the Dinosaurs. Jeremy said something to the effect of it looked odd with the top raised. I just watched the whole episode the day before yesterday but I can't for the life of me remember exactly what he said, I just remember thinking he was nuts!

He said it wasn't a looker with the top up but stunning with the top down.

Pricing may be out VERY soon... Been in the same boat and I was told it may be as early as this week. We shall see... I am just hoping that they offer the "same color" top just like the 12's... My car will be black, but I want it to look seamless...

Pricing is out now according to my CA. I was able to spec my 2013 35i and my CA should have submitted the order by now. I'm going to call on Monday and see if I can get a timeframe for the production code.

Edit: I was told it is too late to order a 2012 model and that the $2500 option credit is NOT available for the 2013s. Also, it appears that the base MSRPs have not changed; premium package features and Comfort Access are now included in the 35i/35is base price and sport package is no longer available for the 35i (I opted for M-Sport to get the adaptive suspension). The Canyon Brown/M-Sport pack is also cheaper.

Here are the MSRP numbers I was quoted before I put the deposit down on the order:

2013 Z4 sDrive35i: $55,150
Black Sapphire Metallic: $550
Canyon Brown/M-Sport package: $4050
Premium Sound package: $950
Navigation System: $2150
7-speed DCT: $450
Heated seats: $500

There is a pricing guide floating around on Bimmerfest from Santa Barbara Auto Group that matches these numbers.

And yeah, the black top better match the black paint.

Interesting... I will have to see what the hold up is... I may have to do the European Delivery and up from a 35i to the 35is due to the savings potential

Well, they didn't actually discontinue the sport package features - they just rolled the sport seats into the MSRP and made the increased speed limiter and adaptive suspension available only with the M package. It seems to be more of a marketing move than a design change.
