Questions about our 19 inch OEM wheels

Does anyone know how much they weight and what company made those wheels for BMW, and are they really good for track race?

If I'm not mistaken, speculations are that OEM BMW wheels are BBS (someone correct me). For style 326, the front wheels are 13.95kg (30.75lbs) and the rears are 13.8kg (30.42lbs). In regards to the track, they are most likely low-pressure cast wheels. While they are ductile, if you are really a tracky getting a set of forged wheels might be worth it. That, and coming in at 30lbs they are quite heavy for 19s.

Some wheels are made by bbs
Pretty sure these are not.
Regardless OEM bbs means they are strong.
That in fact means they are heavy as bricks usually when it comes to OEM wheels.

I don't know the company that made that wheel... my understanding is that BMW uses multiple suppliers, and some known suppliers are BBS, Ronal, Hayes-Lammerz, Borbet.

All of them are high quality suppliers

What do you mean by 'really great for track'? They are strong and high quality. Not the lightest as others have mentioned but I personally would trust BMW OEM wheels on my car over most aftermarket wheels

You will get a much better selection of tires if you move to a 17 or 18 inch wheel, also the tires get cheaper. You will want a set of road and a set of track wheel's/tires.

IMO you do not want low profile tires when you are on the track, look at race cars and see how many run large wheels and low profile, you need sidewall for support and dampening.

Just make sure the wheels you pick have full clearance for the brakes and you can go full lock on the steering with out rubbing.
