Very nice color... Looks almost like liquid metal on the pics... Does it look like that in person?

It's true. We also run without a front plate on our cars, not to mention tint on the front windows. My cars are a dream for an officer who's looking to tack things on. I was pulled over in my Mini R60 with near catless exhaust, no front plate, no reflectors, and my illegal tint and walked away with just the speeding ticket I deserved. I think it really depends on your attitude when you are pulled over. With one well deserved exception, I have always been very courteous and respectful to the officers that have pulled me over. In return, they are courteous and respectful back to me. CHP in particular have been great to deal with.

Sometimes they need to hit quota. I was once given 3 tickets at once in NY state and needed to lawyer up big time

IMHO, best not to give them a reason to pull you over.....

front plate and tints.. i mean.. really.. is it that worth it?

catless DP, up pipe etc. i can see the reason for it, and you can even try to be low key about it with a low backpressure but quiet exhaust to still get the power but be stealth.

To each their own

Pics are fairly true to life, especially the one that shows the rear 2/3rds view. The color is darker than Space Gray, and whatever metallic particles are suspended in the paint give it a bluish tinge in certain light. Pretty thrilled with it, as the configurator on BMWusa does it no justice whatsoever.

I don't get it either. How big of a diff is it really? Front plate, whatevs, if it's the law, so be it. Eventually tints will get nasty w/ bubbles and it impairs view. Just like those side reflectors, it's as if the OEM was some nasty neon green color...c'mon lol!!!

I gotta say, the car looks WAY better without a front plate. So, yeah, I think it's worth it. And dont' even start with that off-center tow-hook mounting gizmo. Been driving like this for 4 years, never been fined for it, even when I was pulled over other infractions (read: speeding)

Sure, I understand that it looks better (who wants a rectangular piece of metal or plastic awkwardly placed in the front?), but if it's against the law, I can't be bothered stressing over it.

Originally from Pennsylvania - no front plate required. Been in Illinois 7 years, never put a front plate on. Never stressed once about it, but would certainly stress over drilling holes in that beautiful bumper!

My Z4 doesn't have any holes in the front for a front license plate. I told the dealer not to drill any holes, and he obliged.

That's good re Penn. Mine already had the front plate installed before I even set eyes on it. It's the law here unfortunately, but no biggie.

VMR and I think they really add to the appearance of the car. I went with these once the rear 296s started to develop cracks in the rim - ridiculous.

yes indeed - 19" with Michelin PSS; when I put the VMRs on I added Michelins to the rear to replace the aging Continental DW and just recently went to Michelin on the front too.

Very, very nice. I really like what you've done. I agree they really add to the look of the car. I ended up going with the Alufelgen CS-7 wheels on my Alpine White Z4 in an attempt to recreate the look of the ESS Z4 Project Car, but I might have thought twice if I'd seen your car first! Very well done, my friend!

Thanks - we like the very cool, aggressive, but slightly understated look.
