noise at 75-80 mph
This may be a silly questions, but in my 30i I've noticed a change in noise as I get to just about 77 mph. I can't tell if it's tire/road noise or possibly just the exhaust note at that speed. It's difficult to describe, but sounds a little as though I were driving over a very lightly ribbed road - sort of a vibration that you hear, but don't feel.
Has anyone noticed something similar? I just want to figure out if it's normal and Ok or if I need to have the alignment or something else checked. I'm heading out on a long-ish drive this weekend from Santa Barbara to Carmel so if there's something that needs checking, i figure I should do it now. thanks! |

I should have said - it's with the roof and windows up. I guess it could be related to wind over the roof - or the wind noise just drowns out whatever else it is.
Could be me being overly sensitive, too - I'm really particular about noises, creaks, squeaks, etc... |

Chris: Is the Cargo Area Partition up or down, I found it would resonate a bit in the down position if the top was up and make a drumming noise. It got much quieter when I raised it up.

The partition has been down, I'll try it up as well and see if there's any difference one way of the other. I was out with top up this morning and the noise was very much present (at least to me...) at just about 78-80 mph.
Thanks for the ideas! |
