There would be zero lag at high RPMs (4500+). What transmission do you have, DCT? I would assume so if 35i and not manual (keeping it floored..). What DCT mode are you in? Sport & Sport plus and/or S or M DCT mode would be an instant shift but no neck snap like M5 and SMG.
What you may feel is the computer backing off power due to possible tire slip from the gear change or simply retarding the timing for a smoother shift. It is a remarkably fasssst smooth shift for such power. Any power loss is 1/10 second. Longer than that is loss of traction and DSC compensating. PS: Redlining 1st or 2nd would probably cause a chirp without DSC and redlining 3rd and up probably wouldn't unless a slick road. Redlining 5th??? At what speed?

sport with D mode. speed at 140km above. should be 3-4 gear above.
u would just feel that the pedal on ur foot seem weird for abt 1s. like no fuel power going in but after tat ok. i think s and M mode do not has this problem |
