I'm laughing because I have a Maserati and there's no comparison. The Maserati attracts women, pure and simple. My Z4 35i is a much better car with the possible exception of the engine in the Maserati (made by Ferrari).

A Real-Lefe Experiment
I bought a 2010 E Class for my wife this past Xmas (Arctic White, Panoramic Roof, Prem II Pkg, Wheel Pkg). She drives it to work daily and tries to agitate me by saying, "You wish you could drive my car don't you?"
I tell her that once the Z4 arrives, she'll be the one crying for a chance to drive it. Is the Z4 a girl's car? I'll find out next month.

If you want to attract women, get a MINI Cooper. I used to have a MINI and it was amazing how many compliments I got from women about the car. Of course, that was back when the new MINI was fairly rare. Now they're everywhere.

I've only ever seen one '09 Z4 on the roads here in Pittsburgh and one white Z4 pre-'09. My dealer says they sell about 20/year. They must all be in Southern Pittsburgh.

The Z4 is a car that can be seen as both a boys and girls car.
Its a car that can look both MEAN and GIRLY. Personally I think a red Z4 with small rims is a total girls car... But black with 19"s is totally mean, and manly. And it defo does not sound like a girls car... performance is great |

If my salary doubled tomorrow, then still, no one other than me is laying a sponge on my Z4.

black is a tough color to let others wash it. You can easily wind up with swirl marks which really can take away from the beauty of black. Here in Canada there is a company that is doing extremely well selling products for waxing and cleaning. They are selling all over the world and people seem to really like the results. Its called Zaino. Also I have to say, when you get a nice day, I really dont mind cleaning the car myself. This car is really so small, that to clean it is a mindless pleasure.

1) Have faith that every person at every BMW dealership is perfect and knows everything about washing a car or maintaining this mobile unit an can do it perfect every time and hope they don't scratch the car when they wash it, but if they do it's covered under warranty, but I have to go thru all the aggravation of leaving the car to have them buff it out, then hope it looks brand new again after that Or God forbid, they may have to paint the car which is worse yet. 2) Do it myself and have peace of mind Thank you, but I'll continue to wash it myself. Never wash it myself, but I do worry a bit when I take it to the car wash and there's a new guy working there. |

wash it yourself would be the best choice. no one would take care of your car the way you do.
stuff used to wash the car is vital. pressure applied when washing is critical. One member here compared the pressure to be applied to the car to washing the pressure one would apply to the face of a baby! I found that tip interesting, this is the only way to avoid scratches. When I take my car to a car wash facility, I don't let them use their own stuff to clean and dry the car, instead I hand them my kit of micro fiber towels... now back to the main question, Zed is not girly but it is as beautiful and hot as Megan Fox :-)

scott, when I took my car in to bmw for a quick service call, they also washed it for me. After looking at it, I asked that they please not wash it in the future for me. They left a scratch on the side where a guys zipper on his jacket marked it, and also the wash job on it was pretty bad. So I dont think I will take your advice.

same here, my dealer's washing skills sucks. they did it the first time I took the car for it's first service and that was it. since then, I always wash the car before sending it to them and once there I ask not to wash the car.
