Steering Overboosted?
Anyone think that the E89 steering is a bit overboosted at slow speeds?
I'm waiting for an ECU Flash that changes the variable steering boost mapping. Dinan are you listening? JZ |

No way. In fact, I think it should be more lighter at low speeds like my Escalade. Hopefully, Dinan can tune it too!
I wish I could drive with one finger on my z4... |

BMW deliberately tunes out perfection ever so slightly so owners can find something to gripe about. Steering, run-flats, wind deflectors - all good topics. Myself, I find that a slight shimmy around 140 is a tad worrisome, but it may be from the big boat trailer I'm towing...
YMMV. |

Actually I think they deliberately tune it out for wider appeal and then they produce the M for the harder core. or we just Dinanize the heck out of our wider appeal Bimmer. JZ |

The steering on the Z4 is a little too light for my taste but it's not as bad as the steering on my old '01 330ci, which was definitely overboosted (BMW corrected the problem in '02 after getting many complaints about the very light steering on the '01 3 Series).
