If function is what you are looking for use the stock air box with a drop in filter it is designed to bring cold air into the motor. If you want a cool sound an open filter in the engine bay sounds fun but will heat soak.

Yes its good...the fastest x35i at the drags use the BMS DCI. I found that it gave me better throttle response. With a strong tune it you will see some HP gains over stock.

Here is a picture of the BMS single filter installed in my Z4 35i. Sounds awesome. Sorry for the big pic.

i had the BMS single cone intake installed for a week. The sound was awesome, like as if there is a blow off valve.

Took it off today as butt dyno tells me my low end torque was suffering. In this hot humid climate im living, i think it might be due to heatsoak.

One positive experience I noticed was that petrol consumption improved while on the BMS intake.

ANyway, using my stock airbox with BMS air filter now!

I took mine out too since I had to go to the dealer for fuel pump replacement. Not sure if I am going to reinstall it. I was concerned about heat soak as well living in Florida.

I still got ooooodles of low down torque with the DCI. This motor has plenty to spare...who needs more anyway lol? If you want to go fast its all about the HP up top....

Alext have you tried using the stock box with a drop in filter before? It gives better throttle response and a sportier sound too. Doesnt sound as loud as using a single cone itnake though.

Freaks me out to think what will happen if the single cone intake somehow come loose and the motor will be sucking in all the debris.

Kudac not so sure if our engine bay can fit the dual though. Single will not be an issue.

The BMS DCI works fine on all models.
