I just had a search on the British eBay site and they are listing a few different versions of the same module, they don't currently list and E89 version, but all the other versions are less than £100. I remember asking them why the E89 was more expensive, and the answer I got was that it just was.
Their eBay identity name is: www*cabrio-module*de try doing a search for that and see what comes up for you. |

I was considering this also, but given its really something that just adds a little convenience, I'll pull over and operate the top myself. I'll plough the money into something more useful like an ESS Tune!

Considering I got almost every single extra on this car, I think that the £140 I spent on the closing module is actually one of the better options on the car, certainly one of the more useful ones so I can highly recommend it.
By the way I don't think the customer service is bad at all, I just think the modules for the E89 are different price to the older cars - I can't explain however why the website now suggesting it's nearly €300, that's more than double the price that I paid only a month or so ago. |

Is there still a way to stop the top in mid way? I like to clean it this way with the clear Shield in place.

Yes you can stop the roof opening or closing at any point during the process by simply pressing the button again, I think this is the same with both the smart top and cabrio-module, they have to have this option for safety to avoid slicing your fingers off if you get your hands stuck.......

SmartTop totally worth it! Being able to have the top open by the time you've reached your car and being able to raise/lower the top at a stop light are two very handy features.

I have had the ST installed on all my cars within the first 2 weeks.
both of my e89 Z4s, my 335i, and my M3. It's one mod I cannot do without

Anyone had success disabling the SmartTop using only the stalks? I was trying it out the other day just in case I had a road mishap and needed to disable the SmartTop before leaving it at the shop. Tried a couple of times, and couldn't disable it using just the stalks. I would love to get good at that in case I ever happen to have a breakdown away from home and have no chance to get to my laptop.

Roof opening and closing while moving is definitely being incorporated starting with July builds for US cars.

Supposedly it's hydraulic system is stronger to withstand the stress of it opening/closing while traveling. It's confirmed for 2012s made by March for the European market iirc. Not sure when or if it is actually coming to the US though.

Well, hope the stronger hydraulic system is on all Z4's ... Mine just finished production. I can't see them re-tool for a different hydraulic system depending on the market the car is sold in...

How does one purchase this item? Their site says they don't deliver to the US.
