software update

Hi everyone, I just have my car back from the dealer (hpfp recall) they also made a software update, lots of thing have change since then, i love the fact that the i drive screen does'nt pop up anymore when i start the engine, but one thing i dislike is when i use the nav system the screen is a lot darker then before even whit the brightness set at maximum. any clue? what else should have change that i may discover later?

I did wonder why my screen was darker must be part of the update. No major changes other than a few new graphics and also single address entry for verbal destination input.

not sure for the aps, i'll to check, as for the other changes they are mostly subtle but theres a lot i'll have to drive the car for awhile to discover.

i do'nt like the darker screen, it sucks, i'll get the car back to the dealer somewhere this summer to fix it.

I asked about the apps and the dealer said its a different system. So its basically the hardware not only software

If you want BMW Apps and the latest connected drive stuff, you have to change out the Combox: http://alekshop.com/services/bmw_com...trofit_service

Go into Nav settings and change the screen to auto, It sounds like your nab screen is set to the night mode

He's not talking about the nav display mode... The whole screen is now darker presumably to lower glare at night but also means its less easy to read in the day... Not as bright.

I got my new Z4 this week, so far I am happy

how do you get the idrive screen not to pop up?
mine does it all the time?
is there a option to tick?

Close the screen before you turn off the car. when you start up again it will stay down - it remembers the last position.

well, I have to reverse out of my parking space, so the screen will come up anyway :-), is there a way to disable PDC temporarly?

it depends on the year of your car, mine is an 09, before the update the screen was always pop up regardless if it was close or open when i'd shut the engine.
