Will prob add ESS to 35is. Anything else?

Picking up a good condition used 35is this weekend after sticking with a underpowered f10 528 for a year.

I want to "M" it out as much as possible but also want the car to be reliable without risking the DCT. Is there anything i should change on top of just the chip.

I am thinking also of adding Brembo, getting rid of the RFT - not sure if i am changing the rims (though they are the 296 style) and maybe the KW

OPen to suggestions. Have read the forum and see a lot of pple just talk about the ESS or JB upgrades. But is the KW V3 a worthwhile change to yank out the M suspension (i have KW on the old car but that was coming from a stock suspension that was quite sucky). Seems not many pple really mod out the z4's as much.

I dont see any strong reasons for getting KW or brembo, but do get those non-RFTs and ESS. I am myself planning on getting an LSD as well. Drilled rotors would look cool also, but I am not sure if they exist.

I like:

1) Micheline Pilot Super Sports
2) FMIC of some type if running ESS or other tune
3) the new AR Down Pipes
4) LSD would be awesome, and very M, but only needed if actually going to track the car

will definitely be switcing to PSS - i use pzero hero's now and they are horrible in the wet..just not sure if i should swap out to new rims and Brembo 4 pot (or maybe BMW performance)

Not going to track it, but like to know the power is there...and that the braking power is there. As for the FMIC and AR Down pipes..what do they do (sorry a bit clueless on turbo stuff).

Not big fan of exhaust mods...prefer to keep the car a general sleeper car minus the brembos

Congratz on ur new ride. Is it in white color ? i saw one one sale a while back.

KW V3 definately a good upgrade. then wheels tires. Basically thats all u need in HK, lol (if sleeper is what u after).

Personal favorite is the ESS tune. my buddy was using it on his Z and it feels so much different from stock. best mod so far.

if you are not a big fan of exhaust mods, just go with a FMIC, Front Mount Inter-Cooler. This is larger than the tiny stock one and will provide much cooler inlet temps and hence, more turbo power with the denser air - it also allows the air to be cooler longer as you push the car repeatedly or on long accelerations. You really can tell the difference. I have a Stett FMIC but some people have complained of order delays, another great looking one is on the commercial classifieds page of this forum.

Regardless, the two best mods out of the gate are 1) Michelin PSS, and 2) ESS (or some other quality tune). I have both.

Tires and tune. But, there is a bunch more to getting M-like handling other than shocks and springs. Our Zed doesn't handle near as well as the M3, but with the ESS, it's probably faster. Certainly much more torque.

Shade: Yah, white in color. Think the guy had listed it for just about 2 months. What sucks about HK 35is is that none of them have idrive. Actually seems like very few z4's have idrive. Coming from a F10, i thought thye all had idrive.

the FMIC will not add any sound, just smoother power. the DPs are very loud if you do not buy them with the race cats.

I was told that KW will reduce body roll and handle better.
That will be my Xmas gift this year

i added KWV3s on my previous car. THey are nice..but truthfully i feel like its a waste to get rid of M adjustable suspension so will jsut change to springs and sway bar

that is my issue also - I know the KWV3s are great but then the suspension adjustment is gone; so, I will probably add a mild spring upgrade

I think changing the sway bar is a problem because it also has to be compatible with the M suspension settings???? but I do not know this for sure but it was a discussion I had a while back with people on this forum
