I'm wondering if it is better in terms of performance to stay with the 18 inch wheels and avoid the 19s. Edmunds recent Inside Line review of the 35is suggests this is true. The 19s on the 35is look fantastic though.

As a rule, smaller wheels are lighter. Moreover, weight being equal, a smaller wheel has a smaller rotational moment of inertia.

Lower unsprung weight = better handling & acceleration
Lower moment of inertia = better acceleration
Lower gyroscopic effect = better cornering & steering feel


That's why F1 cars use 13" wheels!
