2 questions from Newbie

Hello everyone-I have two questions that I feel you all are best to answer:

When it comes time to replace the TPM sensors is it better to go with the OEM or is there another brand that is "the one to get"?

How do you clean the inside of your back glass? It seems like a pretty good stretch to me

TPMS are usually rebuilt by the tire installer from what I know when new tires are installed. I put new wheels/tires on my Z4 last summer so the installer never had a chance to program the new sensors to the car. I’ll get that done this summer.

I have never felt a need to wash the inside of the back window but you do have a point. Maybe pause the up/down motion to access the inside of the window?

If you need a new TPMS sensor because you're getting new wheels or one broke; I'd go with OEM. I have aftermarket in my track day wheels for my M4 and while they work, they take much longer to communicate and it's just kind of annoying. For a one-time expense I think it's worth going OEM. That said, you typically don't need to replace them. When you get new tires mounted that's the time to have the shop install a TPMS rebuild kit which replaces o-rings and the battery.

I usually clean the inside of the rear glass by partially opening the roof so that back panel is raised but not fully over the main roof section. It's been a while since I've done it but I seem to recall that if you don't open it far enough it'll want to (not quickly) fall back down into the lower position after about 30-ish seconds so be aware of that. It's nowhere near fast enough to be dangerous but it can startle you the first time it happens and you've got your hands up under it.

I remove the mesh windscreen and then use a little windshield cleaning gizmo. Works great. Take your time and no potential closing of the roof
