Coded Driveaway Protection

Hello guys..

I wanted to ask if u need the optional comfort access to have coded driveaway protection or every bmw car has it even with the normal key ? (I am talking about Z4 2009)

But can anyone briefly explain the whole "driveway protection" concept?

Thanks for the link.. Haven't seen that site before. That's pretty interesting. I'm just wondering how the car will react to the second key trying to start the car if the first key was last to use it...

A guess is that every BMW has it as standard. The rolling codes aren't related to CA. The keyfob is somewhat different with CA but that only has to do with the remote sensing and the fact the key isn't in the slot to charge.
