Bronze watches

I have the bronze bug. Probably going to be my next one. It seems to be a love or hate thing but I love the mechanical feel and the warm colors of them. Anybody have one? I'm starting to scour the market to see what's out there. IWC actually just released a beautiful one but 11K is way above what I want to go on this one. Hoping to find something nice around 1-3 grand.

A patina is to be expected, but how hard is it to polish up if it gets too bad, or if you just want to be shiny again? Also from what I've read its basically safer to do this yourself, unlike stainless, since you are not removing the actual metal when polishing.

Here's IWC's for example, love it times a thousand, but I would also love one with a brown strap. And less expensive.

Lum-Tec makes a few bronze models complete with a brown strap for a much lower price point. And superluminova is always cool!

Helson, Benarus, Magrette for affordable micro's

my choice would be an Ennebi Fondale or PAM

most bronze watch afficianado's actually prefer patina.. some even forcing patina with eggs or even chemicals like liver of sulfur

I have a Zenton B42. Nice simple case and dial, and a ETA automatic movement.
It is quite easy to remove the patina if you don't like how it is progressing, I did a few experiments with different ways of speeding up patina, didn't like them so rubbed it back and let it age naturally.
It now looks different than these pics as this was after an experiment with liver of sulfur.

There was an inexpensive bronze watch on kickstarter not too long ago.

I tried the IWC one as I am a big Aquatimer fan. Will tell you 100% in person it is gorgeous. If I weren't buying and furnishing a home at the moment I'd pull the trigger yesterday.

Oooh...I am looking for a nice bronze watch at the same price point ($1K to $3K). Keep the suggestions coming!

I was unaware that sulfur had a liver.

Bronze does look very cool. Never considered it but I have to rethink.

That actually came out pretty cool man. I think it's awesome how you can keep trying different things.

I actually have the Zelos pictured above. It is a beautiful watch, very heavy and and the bronze patinas quite nicely. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the color of the face. I ordered the exact one above which is supposed to have a grey face, but in reality it is much lighter and almost blueish. I would highly recommend it, but it appears to be sold out.
